ITEAD Unveils a Game-Changer: The $7 SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle
ITEAD, otherwise known for their Sonoff line of devices, has just release a $6.99 Zigbee 3.0 dongle.
The SONOFF Zigbee Dongle ZBDongle-P is a versatile and powerful device that serves as a Zigbee 3.0 gateway in open-source automation platforms. Its ability to manage a wide variety of sub-devices from different brands makes it an essential tool for smart home enthusiasts. Pre-flashed with Z-Stack coordinator firmware, the dongle is compatible with both ZHA in Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT, offering users flexibility in their choice of platforms. Based on the TI CC2652P and CP2102N, it boasts a +20dBm output gain and supports up to 40 sub-devices by default, with the potential to support up to 100 sub-devices with configuration changes. To ensure optimal connectivity and minimal interference, the ZBDongle-P features an SMA interface for connecting an external antenna, an aluminium casing to reduce signal interference from other devices, and an optional 1.5 m USB extension cable to improve signal range for a seamless and efficient smart home experience.
