A few days ago the Smart Device Management (SDM) API was unveiled, giving hope to anyone wanting to integrate their Nest devices with Home Assistant.

The Nest Thermostat is a smart thermostat developed by Google. It can be controlled by a mobile app or through voice commands with a Google Assistant-enabled device. The thermostat can automatically adjust the temperature based on your schedule and preferences, as well as use sensors to detect when you're away from home to save energy.
