Roborock was founded in July 2014 by current CEO Richard Chang. Shortly thereafter, Xiaomi invested US$3MM. Its first product was the Mi Home Robotic Vacuum Cleaner for Xiaomi and in 2018 they officially expanded overseas, after having released the Roborock S5 a year earlier. Today, the company operates out of four locations, with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong.
