Aqara Launches Its First Zigbee 3.0 Sensors
Aqara's new Zigbee 3.0 sensors should allow for a seamless integration with other vendors. But there's a catch.
The Aqara TVOC Air Quality Monitor is a device designed to detect the concentration of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) in the air, which are harmful and carcinogenic pollutants that evaporate under normal indoor atmospheric conditions. In addition to VOC detection, the air quality monitor also measures temperature and humidity levels. It utilises the Zigbee 3.0 Protocol, known for its speed and energy efficiency, and is compatible with various smart home ecosystems such as HomeKit, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. The monitor features a high-contrast dot-matrix E Ink screen, which offers a paper-like display that is easy on the eyes and consumes minimal energy. The device can operate for over a year without requiring a battery change.
