AdGuard Home and Pi-hole both cover the basics. They block ads and trackers. But which one is the better choice?
Release date: June, 2015
Pi-hole is a free and open-source software that acts as a network-wide ad blocker for all devices connected to it. It works by blocking DNS requests to known ad-serving domains by routing them through a local server. This can be used to block ads on all devices connected to the network, including computers, smartphones, and smart TVs. Additionally, Pi-hole can also be used to block malware, tracking, and other unwanted network traffic. Pi-hole can be installed on a variety of devices, including the Raspberry Pi.
